Ashtanga Yoga Workshops at Bahia Yoga Nottingham, 1st and 2nd October, 2016.

The talented and humble Ryan Spielman coming back to Bahia Yoga to teach 3 special workshops in October. Each involving some serious yet mindful practice, delivered with with lightness and good humour. It’s time to explore your asana practice with clear guidance and modifications and help with those tricky poses.Open to all levels except complete beginners. Ryan is one of Jasmin Bahia’s main Yoga teachers, and this is a great opportunity to receive some teachings from a respected Ashtanga Yoga teacher.  We have 3 different workshops running, each priced at £45.

10:00am-12:30pm –Led Primary with extras – Saturday October 1st, 2016

Ryan will guide you through the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary series with a focus on developing some the more advanced transitions such as jumping through and jumping back, arm balancing, chakrasana and drop backs. For all levels except complete beginners.

 2-5pm Saturday – Hands-on adjustments – October 1st, 2016

An introduction to some of the fundamental assists that can enhance your teaching toolbox and deepen your own personal practice. There will be time to cover core asanas relevant to all styles of practice and have a play with some of the more fun or advanced ones, as well. For regular practitioners and teachers. Please check space for this Saturday afternoon workshop – as numbers will be limited for this session.

 10-1pm – Introduction the Intermediate series – Sunday October 1st, 2016

The second series in the Ashtanga system is, in many ways, a compliment to the first series. The two make sense when practiced together. Unfortunately, because of the way the Ashtanga system is taught, many people do not get the opportunity to progress to this series which introduces a wonderful backbending sequence, deep hip openers and creative, unusual vinyasas. In this workshop Ryan will teach you how to approach all the postures in a safe and practical way so you can begin to include this intelligent series in your regular practice. For all levels except complete beginners.

Ryan has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga since 1995. He is an advanced practitioner in the system. He runs a teacher training program in London twice a year.

He teaches Yoga and meditation classes, workshops and retreats internationally. Ryan hosts the Lonely Guru podcast dialoguing with prominent figures in the Yoga world.  In addition to his work as a teacher he also writes and performs spiritual comedy songs. www.trueryan.com
