What do I need to do to obtain my teaching diploma?
To obtain your certificate as Yoga Teacher you will need to have:
• Attended 100% of the course
• Completed all written assignments, essays and theory exam paper
• Observed 5 external classes with written observations
• Assisted in 2 external Yoga classes
• Participated in group presentations and group exercises
• Completed the final practicum exam, teaching a 60 minute class before an examiner

What if I miss any part of the course?
To obtain the teaching certificate 100% attendance is required. In certain circumstances, a missed lecture maybe arranged with the course leader at an additional cost of £50 per hour. It is imperative the full hours for the Yoga Alliance certification is met.
What is the best age to begin training as a Yoga Teacher?
You may begin your Yoga Teachings at any time during your life. Traditionally in India students were schooled from a very young age as they lived with their respected teacher (Guru) which involved leaving their families and homes. Yoga Teacher Trainings are available worldwide, without needing to leave your family or home life for extended periods to develop as a Teacher.
Our Yoga trainees vary from their early 20s to their 50s, Yoga knows no age barriers. 20, 30, or 60 come along and join us.
How good at Yoga do I need to be before I can join the Yoga Teacher Training?
We recommend having a regular weekly Yoga practice in place; as the Bahia Yoga Teacher Training includes two-hour Hatha Yoga classes. As a guideline a minimum of 1 year is a good gauge for some ideal practice. Remember you maybe more ready than you think you are to embark on the Teacher Training Programme. We are looking for someone with a sensible knowledge of the basic postures. Keep in mind that an advanced Yogi is not someone who contorts their body into a complicated gymnastic shape yet is unable to sit still for five minutes. A sophisticated practitioner works mindfully and intuitively both on and off the mat.
Will I be able to teach Yoga whilst I am studying on the course?
You will require specialist trainee insurance, please look into this with some serious consideration. To obtain this insurance you must declare you are a Teacher Trainee and teach no more than 2 classes per week during your training. If you are ready and wish to take on additional teaching experience outside of the course, discuss this in the first instance with the tutors and explore the options.
