Sunday Series:  4 week Mudras Mantra & Meditation course
Course 2: Soothing sounds to calm the mind with Jasmin

Sunday 6 to 7.15pm – runs 24th September, 1st, 8th and 15th October 2017

The Sunday series consists of a short 4 week course, to enable the deeper aspects of Yoga to be uncovered for all students. Every 6 to 8 weeks we will offer various courses from Yoga Nidra, Philosophy, Yoga Nidra and Meditation.

Following the success of our first 4 week course in June, we are pleased to announce the launch of our second course –  Autumn 4 week Sunday Series course – Mudras, Mantra and Meditation.

Sunday Series – Mudras, Mantra and Meditation.
Working with some key mudras (hand gestures), and mantra (learning simple chants) and developing a meditation practice, this 4 week course is suitable for all students. Handouts will be provided for participants with the mudras and mantras that will be covered, all chants will be broken down in English and a short explanation of what they mean.

What will your learn?
There will be an opportunity to recite and learn mantras, and each week, there will be guidance for simple homework and optional mini assignments. Mantra Yoga has the same impact on the body and nervous system as Hatha Yoga (asana practice). Mantra can be broken down into two parts: “man,” which means mind, and “tra,” which means transport or vehicle. A  mantra is often viewed as a powerful tool to help still the mind—a soothing sound or vibration, to enter meditation.

You will  learn some key mudras that will help with focussing the energy and breath, and understand how certain gestures can bring energy into our posture and lift our mood.  The Mudras and Mantra will lead to the Meditation aspect of the practice. We will end with some time for tea and prasad (offering of sweet flavoured food or snacks) and talks with fellow members of the Yoga Sangha (Yoga community).

Who can attend?
This course is ideal for students wishing to deepen their Yoga practice, teacher trainees or Yoga teachers who wish to deepen their learning. We suggest having a minimum of 6 months Yoga practice and experience, as the session will include sitting in short periods of meditation.

CPD for Yoga teachers
If you are a Yoga teacher, note this course will be listed as continuing education and will count as 7 hours towards your CPD points.

This class can only be purchased as part of a 4-week course.
Please book online via our website, or arrange to call into the studio in person to book in advance. The last Sunday Series on Pranayama was fully booked, please book your tickets for this 4 week course in advance. Thank you everyone.
