Level 1 — New to Yoga, a beginner Yoga student this one’s for you – B
Level 2 — Confident and able to move through the basic poses then try level two.
Level 3 — Been doing Yoga for more than 18 to 24 months? This is for you.
10am Hatha Yoga Flow (Level 1 ) with Jatta – runs during school term time only
Monday Morning Mellow Yoga! – Get your energy flowing and steady yourself with soothing Yoga poses that flow comfortably and allow you to warm up the body and reduce stiffness and tension in the joints. Clear guidance and options available and you’ll have time to relax and switch off too. B – Open to Beginners. 5pm Ashtanga Yoga (Level 1 to 2) with Jasmin
If you are keen to find a flowing style of Yoga that challenges you physically and mentally and wish to build up strength, stamina and flexibility pretty quickly this dynamic style of Yoga is for you. B – Open to Beginners. Meditation – 5pm to 6.30pm with Jake
Insight Meditation is a practice that can deepen the potential to live with some sense of wisdom, kindness and compassion. The practice is derived from the Buddhist tradition and is accessible and appropriate for people of any religious affiliation or none. Insight Meditation is the traditional inspiration behind contemporary mindfulness-based therapies and methods. These sessions are not suitable for beginners. Hatha Yoga – 7 to 8pm with Sheryl (Level 1 to 2)
A mindfully paced Hatha Yoga class based on flowing movements, providing stability in standing poses, and ease in opening the chest to help prepare for prone backbend poses. Seated and supine poses offering flexibility for the legs (quads and hamstrings), poses to help strengthen the back and release tension in the hips. B – open to Beginners. 12 to 1pm Lunchtime Yoga (Level 1 to 2) – runs during school term time only
A flowing, alignment based Yoga class to pick you up in the middle of the day. Yoga sequences to rejuvenate and release shoulders, neck, spine and hips. Not suitable for beginners. Please note this class runs term time only. Please check the timetable for updates. Purchase online – Lunchtime £8 drop-in single class pass. No class Wednesday 15th February, 2017.
6 to 7pm Hatha Yoga for Beginners with Jasmin or Kate (Level 1)
Covering the basics and beyond of Yoga, from standing, seated, simple twists and bringing an awareness to mind, body, breath and movement. Get to grips with some of the steps to build up a simple yet strong and effective Yoga practice. Every four weeks the course follows a theme, to promote a deeper understanding of the different threads, which make up a holistic Yoga practice. B – perfect class for Beginners. 7.30 to 8.30pm Dynamic Yoga – Ashtanga inspired with Jatta (Level 2 to 3)
This class is suitable for anyone practising Yoga longer than 18 months and the emphasis is on a stronger element to the poses, focusing on alignment, breath awareness and flowing into and out of the poses smoothly. These sessions are inspired by Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow. Not just about the physical side of Yoga, you’ll have some meditation, chanting and deep relaxation time too. 7 to 8am Early Morning Hatha Yoga (Level 1 to 2) – runs during school term time only
A guided Yoga morning practice to warm and tone body and limber the joints. Poses to build up stamina and suppleness for the body and mind. Get your day started off the right way, with a soothing and mindfully invigorating session. Not suitable for complete beginners to Yoga. Note this class will resume March 2017.
5 to 6pm Hatha Yoga Flow with Sophie (Level 1 to 2)
A meditative yet strengthening flowing Yoga session. A nourishing class to give students some energy, with poses to open the chest and releasing the shoulders, ideal for anyone who’s been sitting at a desk all day long! A good amount of time will be put aside for relaxation so you will hopefully leave feeling rejuvenated and stretched. B – Open to Beginners. 6.30 to 7.30pm Hatha Yoga with Nicola (Level 2)
A mindful and uplifting Yoga class for mixed levels of ability. Ideal if you’ve been doing Yoga for 6 months as it’s the next step to help build gradual physical strength, stamina and stability in posture (asana) and stillness of mind and body through breathing exercises (pranayama techniques). A slow, steady and strong asana practice combined with breath awareness and relaxation techniques. Not suitable for complete beginners. 8 to 9pm Hatha Vinyasa Flow with Jatta (Level 1 to 2)
An uplifting Yoga class, which aims to help you wind down for the evening, with soothing and deep yet open stretches, combined with movement focusing on the breath. The Vinyasa Hatha Flow Yoga poses will aim to bring stillness, strength and calmness into your body and mind. B – Open to Beginners and people who have more experience of Yoga too. 12pm to 1pm Lunchtime Hatha Yoga with (Level 2) – runs during school term time only
A nourishing lunchtime sessions with a thoughtful attitude to add a spring in your step as you return to work post Yoga. Get moving and stretching with some stillness – open to mixed levels (not for complete beginners). Covering the classical elements of Yoga as well as, relaxation and simple breathing exercises. 9.30 to 10.30am Hatha Yoga Flow with Jatta (Level 1 to 2)
A soothing flow paced class, open to level 1 and 2 students. Covering the basic classical standing and seated poses, with an emphasis on learning how to breathe and flow into poses with alignment tips. Building to mindful twists for the spine and soothing forward bends to release the hamstrings.B – Open to Beginners. YOGA WORKSHOPS FRIDAY AND SUNDAYS
Monthly Advanced Yoga workshops 6.30pm to 8pm with Jasmin (Level 3)
These workshops are for anyone wishing to explore their practice a little deeper and are led by our Director Jasmin. Suitable for level 3 students, teacher trainees and Yoga teachers. Running once a month. An invigorating Friday evening mini Yoga workshop, breaking down and exploring challenging poses, with aligned based sequences, incorporating Vinyasa Flow and Classical Hatha Poses. The sessions tend to focus on building graduate internal heat (agni) and building up to stronger poses with steadiness and ease. Examples of peak poses vary from Parsva Bakasana (Side Crow Pose) to Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand), Svarga Dvijasana (Bird of Paradise Pose). Includes focus on meditation, relaxation, mantra and pranayama. £15 single workshop fee.
11am to 12.30pm Sivananda Sundays (Monthly) with Jasmin (Level 2 to 3)
This class is based on the Classical Sivananda 12 Yoga poses working through the 7 energy points in the body, please note it includes Sirsasana (headstand) and Sarvangasana (shoulder stand supported pose) and balancing poses such as Bakasana (Crow). This is not suitable for students who do not practice these poses fairly comfortably already. You will learn to focus on the breath, and work through the classical Dynamic Hatha Sun Salutations, hip and core strengthening poses, backbends and soothing forward bends, along with simple chants, meditation, deep relaxation and pranayama (breathing techniques).
