I am new to the studio can I still join?
If you are new to the studio, we suggest attending two to three different workshops, or buying a 5 or 10 class pass and attending ongoing classes before embarking on the training. Most students who undertake the 200 hour course, often complete the foundation course first.
How does the course 200 hour yoga training run?
The course runs one to two weekends a month in Nottingham City centre. We begin at 9.30am and finish at 5.30pm. There are daily teachings on yoga postures, meditation, breathing techniques, and relaxation. And plenty of time to deepen your own personal practice.
To help you acquire this new knowledge, we offer a workshop style approach to learning. Practical aspects of the course include journaling, creating scripts, class observations and the business of yoga. The 200 hour course covers the history and philosophy of yoga, sequencing, planning classes and building up to teaching classes to the public. To view the full curriculum read here.
Who are the teachers?
The course director and founder of Bahia Yoga Jasmin, runs and co-ordinates the training alongside Bhavna, the course administrator. Jake runs the meditation and philosophy part of the training, with guest teachers for anatomy to accountancy. Bhavna also helps supports and guide the students along their journey.
