Kriya Yoga workshop
Join us for a two-hour yoga workshop on kriya yoga with Jasmine Sodhi. This kriya workshop is focused on self-care and includes gentle yoga postures used in both hatha and kundalini yoga to warm up and stretch the body, guided relaxation to restore the body, and pranayama (breathwork) to help us connect deeper to our truer nature. The workshop will also focus on meditation and mantra to help calm the mind and rejuvenate the nervous system. And includes a break for refreshments.
What is Kriya Yoga?
Kriya yoga works on all three aspects of mind, body, and emotions, using movement, breath-work, and meditation to clear out stagnant energy leaving us feeling more vibrant. Regular practice of Kriya yoga shifts our perspective and brings us closer to experiencing the divinity of our true selves. When we begin to touch the sat (the deeper authentic truth) within us, we begin to see the divine in all beings, all of creation and situations. Kriya yoga helps to open up our heart centre (the anahata chakra) and we begin to experience life with greater compassion (daya) and contentment (Santokh).
About the teacher Jasmine Sodhi
Having taken yoga classes over 20 years ago, it wasn’t until she went to a mantra concert in September 2009 with Sanatam Kaur that she felt the yoga spark. During this concert, Jasmine was introduced to pranayama and mantras. Many of which she was familiar with having grown up in the Sikh faith. This led Jasmine to kundalini yoga, where she experienced a real zest for life from the practice. For Jasmine yoga is an experience of the divine, yoga is a lifestyle. She loves how we can all access this experience through breath and postures. Jasmine has been teaching children’s kundalini yoga since 2017 and completed her 200 hours of Hatha training with Bahia Yoga.
