STUDIO UPDATE – COVID-19

Since lockdown, we made the transition from teaching in person to online sessions. Our daily classes, workshops and teacher training switched to Zoom. During this fraught time, we have done all we can to stay afloat. We have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep doing what we love and to support the community.

Learning during Covid-19

Our heart is full of gratitude, and we are thankful you continued with your practice and learning. During lockdown we have ran special classes and events. We collaborated with NottStopping Festival. In May, we raised funds for Mental Health. And in June we held our annual Yoga Workshop for World Refugee Day online.

We continue to learn and educate ourselves on Black Lives Matter. This year we will offer training and resources to our team, students and trainees on race, racism and diversity. We are taking steps to ensure wider representation of the BAME community. And ensure that our classes, team and training courses continue to represent all communities.

Opening: Phase One

As we ease our way out of lockdown, there will be a sense of trepidation, and anxiety cropping up. Like many of you, we recognise that uncertainty is part of this process, and such feelings are natural.

To help us manage this process we will pace ourselves and ease our way back into things. There are many adjustments to take into consideration. A few of the team are meeting at the studio on a weekly basis. During this early phase some or our classes will be live-streamed from the studio.

Opening dates:

We have a soft opening (stage one), sometime from week beginning Monday 27 July, finer details will be confirmed over the coming weeks.

Our official open day (stage two) is 1 September 2020. As we navigate through the stages, please be assured we are working diligently. We will plan mindfully within the legal guidelines. The studio will adhere to the rules for social distancing. And have stringent hygiene measures in place. Our aim to make everyone feel safe, secure and supported.

In the meantime expect a follow up post soon. When we return to teaching at the studio, note our classes will still remain accessible via Zoom. Finally, we understand not everyone has been able to attend online sessions. And we are looking forward to welcoming you back in person this summer. Once again thank you to each of you, for your support in person, online, or from afar! It’s gratefully received.

Stay well and we hope to see you soon.
