Sunday Series: Restful Yoga for Managing Stress

Join us in 2019 for the new Sunday Series: Restful Yoga for Managing Stress. Through simple meditation, soothing asana and pranayama techniques you will take part in a restful yoga practice for managing stress. Each two hour session focuses on resting and renewing your energy. Understanding what depletes the body when you experience stress, and what rejuvenates the mind and spirit. This is a mini course running over two Sundays – please note your booking is for the whole course (both dates).
The Sunday Series will be led by Jasmin a Psychologist and lead trainer for the Bahia Yoga 200 hour Teacher Training Programme. Jasmin views Yoga as a practice that can aid mental and physical wellbeing, her emphasis is on simple movement, breath control and focus for the mind with meditation and mantra. This session will be suitable for all levels of experience.
What will I learn?
- Learn how the breath impacts your mood, stress levels and wellbeing.
- Understand the concept of pranayama (extension of prana / energy).
- Learn which pranayama techniques will help you to focus the mind and breath.
- Practice meditation and restful asana (postures / movement) to manage stress and wellbeing.
- Learn two key restorative poses.
- Practice deep relaxation techniques (based on Yoga Nidra).
- Each session will end with mantra (soothing chants) and readings from Yoga texts to support your learning.
- There will be time for Q&A -plus guidance on home practice to maintain health and wellbeing.
- Handouts will provided – and pre-course reading is emailed two weeks before the course begins.
What do I need to bring?
All equipment is provided, including blankets, bolsters and mats and light refreshments. These mini courses are open to everyone.
Suitable for all levels of experience, including anyone new to Yoga.
