Yoga Workshop Mental Health & Kindness

Join an online two hour Yoga workshop to promote Mental Health and Kindness. The workshop aims to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. Hosted by Jasmin Bahia a Psychologist and Director of Bahia Yoga, with Actress and Yoga teacher Roxy Shahidi, and Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher Jake Dartington . At the end of the session, teachers will share some useful tips from their favourite books, podcasts and yoga postures. This two hour workshop runs Sunday 17 May, 2020.

You can make a donation of your choice, we are suggesting £10 or £20 per person for the workshop. Make a donation through this Bahia Yoga Fundraising Page. Outline Yoga Mental Health & Kindness Workshop

The workshop begins with postures to strengthen the spine, helping to bring a sense of openness and ease for the upper chest and spine. The second Yoga practice incorporates steady grounding seated movements, stabilising the hips and shoulders. Following this is a nourishing breathing practice which will help to reduce anxiety and stress. Finishing with a guided loving kindness meditation practice and deep relaxation. The workshop is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

This workshop promotes Mental Health Awareness Week which will take place from 18-24 May 2020. The theme is kindness “Kindness is defined by doing something towards yourself and others, motivated by genuine desire to make a positive difference. Kindness is also defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Feelings of kindness to ourselves and others helps with mental health”.
