At Bahia Yoga, we are dedicated to guiding students through the practices of Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, and Mantra. We are a community-focused yoga school that offers diverse yoga practices while honouring traditional yoga roots through a decolonised perspective, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
Accredited Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Nidra Course
As an educational yoga institution, Bahia Yoga offers an accredited Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Course and a comprehensive 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Programme, both certified by Yoga Alliance International. Our training programs emphasise a blend of traditional yoga teachings, practical application, and deep philosophical understanding, enabling students to engage with yoga authentically and confidently.
Yoga for Every Body and Mind
We believe yoga is for everyone, no matter their age, ability, or background. Our classes are designed to be affordable and adaptable, with modifications available for individual needs, ensuring a safe practice for all. We actively promote yoga as a tool for connection and community through partnerships like our collaboration with Nottingham Refugee Week, where we offer yoga to support individuals from all walks of life.

In 2024, our Director, Jasminder Bahia, was honoured to speak at Notts Pride, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity, representation, and the universal nature of yoga. At Bahia Yoga, we continue to make yoga a welcoming space for all practitioners, regardless of their background or identity.
A Holistic Approach to Yoga
Yoga at Bahia Yoga blends various styles, including Hatha Yoga, Sivananda, Iyengar, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa Flow. Though our classes are influenced by multiple styles, at our core lies a deep respect for yoga’s tradition, philosophy, and holistic approach to health and wellness.
Our Founders and Teachers
Led by Jasminder Bahia, the founder of Bahia Yoga (est. 2006), and Jake Dartington, a renowned Mindfulness and Meditation teacher, our team of expert teachers is dedicated to making yoga relevant to modern life while preserving its profound roots. We support our students in exploring yoga’s depth, enriching both their practice and their lives.
