Yes, you can practice yoga with an injury, but it’s important to approach it with care. We strongly recommend consulting your GP or healthcare provider before starting or continuing yoga, especially if you’re managing an injury. Always let your teacher know about any injuries or health concerns so they can offer appropriate guidance. Remember, your wellbeing comes first—listen to your body and prioritise the advice of your medical professional

Our Approach to Yoga
At Bahia Yoga, we offer classes rooted in traditional South Asian yoga practices with thoughtful integration of modern influences. Our teaching respects the roots of yoga while ensuring it is accessible, inclusive, and adaptable to all stages of life.We teach yoga with a focus on Vinyasa Krama—a structured approach where each class is carefully sequenced to build up to and cool down from the main postures. Whether it’s Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, or exploring Yoga Philosophy, our classes emphasize mindful alignment and creating a strong foundation for overall wellbeing.
Hatha Yoga: More than just physical postures (asanas), our Hatha Yoga classes guide you through mindful stretching, strengthening, and relaxation. You’ll develop an understanding of alignment and build a strong, balanced body that supports spiritual practices such as meditation and kriyas.
Pranayama: The art of breath control is an integral part of yoga. We teach techniques like alternate nostril breathing and deep belly breathing to help reduce stress, increase vitality, and support a calm mind.
Meditation: Our meditation practices include mindfulness techniques, guided visualizations, and breath-based focus to cultivate inner stillness and clarity. These sessions are open to practitioners of all levels.
Mantra: The repetition of sacred sounds or phrases (mantras) allows you to quiet the mind and access a meditative state. This practice fosters spiritual growth, connection, and a sense of inner peace.
Yoga Philosophy: Yoga is more than a physical practice. We explore its deeper aspects, including the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Yamas and Niyamas (ethical principles), and the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, offering a holistic approach to your practice.
Our classes reflect a decolonised approach, striving to share yoga authentically while honoring its origins. Whether you're seeking strength, relaxation, or connection, our offerings are designed to support a lifelong, non-competitive practice.
