Bahia Yoga is committed to widening access to yoga teacher training. We aim to offer a small number of reduced-fee places for students from the global majority and LGBTQ+ communities.

Community supported places are offered at £1,800.

As we are a small independent training, the number of reduced-fee places available depends on the overall size of the cohort. These places are confirmed once the minimum number of trainees has been reached.

If you would like to apply for a community supported place, please email us with a short reflection (around half a page) sharing a little about yourself and how this opportunity would support your journey.

Prerequisites for the 200-Hour Teacher Training Course

To support a meaningful learning experience for everyone involved, we recommend the following prerequisites before joining the training:

• A minimum of two years of regular yoga practice and experience attending classes with a teacher
• Availability to attend all training modules and course dates
• A genuine interest in deepening your understanding of Hatha Yoga and developing the skills to teach
• The ability to participate respectfully and collaboratively within a group learning environment
• Self-motivation and a willingness to engage with home practice, study, and reflective learning throughout the course

Teacher training also requires a degree of personal responsibility and self-awareness. Students are encouraged to approach the programme with curiosity, openness, and respect for the shared learning environment.

The training invites participants to reflect critically on their own assumptions about yoga and to engage thoughtfully with new perspectives. This may involve being gently challenged in ways that support learning and personal growth.

As the programme runs alongside work and other commitments, students are encouraged to consider their capacity for self-care, time management, and maintaining balance throughout the duration of the training.

Places on the training are limited in order to maintain a supportive learning environment.

Students from outside the East Midlands are very welcome to apply. However, all participants are expected to attend the full duration of the programme, including training modules, mentoring sessions, and teaching practice.
