Yoga for World Refugee Day: Community as a Superpower

Yoga for World Refugee Day – Online Class
Tuesday 20 June | 6.30pm–7.30pm | Open to All

As part of Refugee Week 2025, Bahia Yoga invites you to join an online community yoga session that brings people together through gentle movement, breath, and rest.

This year’s theme is Community as a Superpower – a reminder that the everyday ways we care, support, and connect with each other have real power. From a shared meal to a quiet gesture, community is built through ordinary and extraordinary acts.

“We can begin the process of making community wherever we are.
We can begin by sharing a smile, a warm greeting, a bit of conversation;
by doing a kind deed or by acknowledging kindness offered to us.” – bell hooks

This one-hour class includes:
– Somatic yoga movement
– Breath awareness (pranayama)
– Mantra and deep rest

Everyone is welcome – no experience needed. Come as you are.

Donations: £5–£10

All proceeds go to Nottingham Refugee Week and Nottingham Refugee Forum, supporting people seeking sanctuary in our city.
