60 hours Yoga Foundation Course

The next 60 hours Yoga Foundation Course runs from September 2020 to January 2021

Meeting once a month in person (dependent on Covid-19) on a Sunday at our Nottingham studio. To ensure safety and social distancing our training will combine pre-recorded videos, live sessions, in person and online. The yoga foundation course is ideal to help develop your practice and deepen your knowledge. Anyone who is unable to attend all sessions in person can catch up with online sessions and pre-recorded videos. After successful completion of this mini yoga foundation course, you may wish to consider applying for the 200 hours yoga teacher training programme. 

What will I learn on the 60 hours yoga foundation course?

1) Asana – Sun Salutations and key poses for an essential Yoga practice.

2) Philosophy of Yoga – introduction to yogic philosophy and lifestyle.

3) Pranayama & Mantra – introduction to pranayama and key mantras.

4) Meditation – Guidance on how to create a regular practice.

5) The Art of Letting Go – relaxation techniques, ​and ​Savasana.

You have up to 35 hours class room hours with tutors, plus 25 hours non-class hours, which includes self practice, attending classes led by the tutors, or workshops, and completing mini assignments. All sessions will include a combination of pre-recorded videos,  live trainings online and also in person at the studio.

Course dates, times and fees

The course hours are Sundays, once a month 9.30am to 5.30pm.  The next 60 hours foundation course begins in September 2020

3) Sunday 15 November

4) Sunday 6 December

5) Sunday 17 January 2021

The foundation course fee is £540 – This includes all tuition, learning with the tutors and a comprehensive training manual. Plus an online five class pass. Closing dates for applications is Monday 7 September, 2020.

Who are the tutors?

Founder Jasmin Bahia and Jake Dartington alongside Bhavna Patel are the lead tutors. Jasmin is the Director of Bahia Yoga, and Jake runs Nottingham Mindfulness As well as being the Course Leader for the 200 hour yoga teacher training programme, Jasmin oversees the production of course material for all trainings. Bhavna co-ordinates the programmes, and provides ongoing support and sessions.

What are the prerequisites?

You must have one years minimum yoga practice to be able to attend the course. A desire to progress and develop your own practice and understanding of Yoga. We strongly recommend joining in regular classes and workshops at the studio before committing to the course.  

How will I be able to apply this learning?

The course is designed to be interactive and will help to build a solid foundation of applied Yoga. Learn to apply practical skills into your day to day life, from journaling, self-practice and study, meditation, breath work and relaxation. 

Will I gain a certificate?

Yes you will gain a certificate provided you have attended the full course and complete the mini assignments and self practice modules for developing your yoga and meditation practice. The course is not a teaching qualification, but does provide an excellent framework for those wishing to deepen their studies and practice of Yoga. It serves as an ideal stepping stone towards further trainings.
