60 hours Yoga Foundation Course

The next 60 hours Yoga Foundation Course runs from September 2018 to January 2019

Meeting once a month, on a Sunday at our Nottingham studio. The yoga foundation course is ideal to develop your practice and deepen your knowledge. After successful completion of this mini yoga foundation course you are eligible to apply for the 200 hour Yoga teacher training programme.

What will I learn on the 60 hours yoga foundation course?

1) Asana – Sun Salutations and key poses for an essential Yoga practice. 2) Philosophy of Yoga – introduction to yogic philosophy and lifestyle. 3) Pranayama & Mantra – introduction to pranayama and key mantras. 4) Meditation – Guidance on how to create a regular practice. 5) The Art of Letting Go – relaxation techniques, ​and ​Savasana. You have up to 40 hours contact time with tutors, plus 20 hours non-contact hours, which includes self practice, attending classes led by the tutors, or workshops, and completing mini assignments.

Course dates, times and fees

The course hours are Sundays, once a month 9am to 6pm, running on the following days: 1) September, 30th, 2018 2) October 14th, 2018 3) November 11th, 2018 4) December 9th, 2018 5) January 13th, 2019 The foundation course fee is £450 – This includes all tuition, access to online programmes, learning with the two main tutors and a comprehensive training manual. Plus access to yoga classes led by the tutors and two yoga workshops at a reduced rate. The fees can be paid in three instalments or in full.

Who are the tutors?

Jasmin Bahia is the director of the studio, and Jake Dartington, who runs Nottingham Mindfulness are the two key tutors. Jasmin is the Course Leader for the Bahia Yoga 200 hour yoga teacher training programme, which is accredited by Yoga Alliance (International).

What are the prerequisites?

You must have one years minimum yoga practice to be able to attend the course. A desire to progress and develop your own practice and understanding of Yoga.

How will I be able to apply this learning?

The course is designed to be interactive and will build a solid foundation of applied Yoga. You can apply the learning and skills from this course into your day to day life, and progress outside of the training days, and beyond the course with guidance from the tutors.

Will I gain a certificate?

Yes you will gain a certificate provided you have attended the full course and complete the mini assignments and self practice modules for developing your yoga and meditation practice. The course is not a teaching qualification, but does provide an excellent framework for those wishing to deepen their studies and practice of Yoga. It serves as an ideal stepping stone to become a Yoga teacher.
