5 simple acts for Refugee Week
Our simple acts:
On Monday 18th June 2018 we will be sending refugees a message of welcome.
On Tuesday 19th June, we are going to sing a song ‘our way’ with a chant.
On Wednesday 20th June, we are baking something simple to bring to our Thursday event
On Thursday 21st June we getting together in Wollaton Park for Yoga in the park, we will be taking donations at the end of the event for Refugee Week. It is also International Yoga Day and time to celebrate summer solstice. Everyone is welcome, please register online.
On Friday 22nd June to end our simple acts. We will define refugee with a simple pose, on our social media pages.
Moving on from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th of June we are holding events inspired by the Great Get Together campaign. This campaign is in memory of MP Jo Cox to “bring our communities together… and celebrate what units us” – Great Get Together.
These classes are open to anyone who holds a valid 5 or 10 class pass. Pick two free classes to attend during this weekend, find out more information on The Great Get Together for Yoga here –
What is Refugee Week ?
Refugee Week takes place every year across the world in the week around World Refugee Day on the 20 June. In the UK, Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events. That celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities.
