Yoga Backbends Workshop
Join Jasminder Bahia for a Yoga Backbend Workshop. This is a warming heart-opening practice that helps us understand how to move mindfully through backbends. With some hip openers, mild inversions, and subtle core work.
This workshop explores how backbends strengthen your back, shoulders, chest, and hips. Exploring supine (lying on the back) and prone (laying on the belly) asanas (postures). The focus is on standing backbends, working towards Natarjasana (Lord of the dancer’s pose). We end practice with twists, a deep restful Savasana, and a guided meditation/yoga nidra practice.
This yoga backbend workshop includes:
- benefits of back bending
- how to warm up for backbends
- how to use props like yoga blocks, and a yoga belt
- alternatives and medications for different body types
- how backbends help the spine for meditation
