Bahia Yoga Celebrates Home: Yoga Events for Nottingham Refugee Week 2024

From the 15th to the 23rd of June 2024, Bahia Yoga joins the city of Nottingham in a heartfelt celebration of Refugee Week. This year, we embrace “Home” as our guiding theme, highlighting the journey to find a place where one feels welcomed, safe, and part of a community. This celebration in Nottingham is part of the larger World Refugee Week, culminating in World Refugee Day on June 20th, a global acknowledgment of the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees.

Nottingham Refugee Week is more than just a series of events; it’s a message. It tells everyone, especially those who have come from far away seeking safety, “You are welcome here. Nottingham is your home too.” Bahia Yoga is proud to be part of this important message. We believe in the power of yoga to connect people, break down barriers, and create a sense of home and peace within ourselves and our community.

The theme of “Home” for Refugee Week touches the essence of what it means to belong. Home is more than a place; it’s the feeling of being accepted and supported. Nottingham’s Refugee Week, through its welcoming events and activities, aims to extend this sense of belonging to everyone, especially those seeking refuge. Our participation in these events not only connects us locally but also ties us to a larger community acknowledging the struggles and celebrating the resilience of refugees worldwide.

We are  excited to be part of Nottingham Refugee Week, offering a space where people can come together, share experiences, and build a community united in diversity and understanding. Join us in celebrating this week of welcome, friendship, and inclusivity.
