Yoga Nidra Teacher Training Course
The Yoga Nidra Teacher Training is offered twice a year: an online course from November 2024 to April 2025, and an in-person course at our Nottingham studio in autumn 2025. To apply, please complete the following steps and fill in the register my interest form.
This Yoga Nidra Training not only equips you with the necessary skills and tools to become a proficient Yoga Nidra teacher, but it also deepens your personal practice, connection, and understanding of Yoga Nidra. This comprehensive 60-hour course focuses on three key areas: Sleep, Rest, and Restore. It’s led by Jasminder Bahia, a Psychologist, EMDR (Trauma) Accredited Therapist, Yoga Teacher Trainer, and Zen practitioner with over two decades of experience in mind-body practices. The course integrates ancient Yoga techniques within a psychological framework and emphasizes how to adopt a trauma-informed approach to the practice.
You will also receive practical guidance and mentoring from graduates of the Yoga Nidra Training, Paula Clarke and Bhavna Patel, ensuring you get hands-on assistance throughout your journey in this course.

Course Details. The course is a hybrid format, consisting of six in-person sessions with additional online training content.

In-person Course fees and payment plan options:
- Full fee: £900
- Early bird offer: £750 (payment in full)
- Payment plan for early bird offer: Two-part installments of £400 (£800 total payable)
- Early bird offer deadline: Two months before course start date
Please note that the full fee of £900 is for individuals past the early bird offer, and applicable to organisations. For individuals who wish to take advantage of the early bird offer, the fee is reduced to £750 (payment in full). If you prefer to pay in instalments, you can choose the payment plan for the early bird offer, which consists of two instalments totalling £800.
As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive community, we offer three scholarship places that provide a 30% discount**. If you identify as part of the global majority as a person of colour, or part of the LGBTQ+ community, you may be eligible to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship application deadline is two months prior to the course start date.

*You can complete the Orientation Session online at your convenience, but it must be done at least two weeks before the November course begins. This session includes online content for review, which will prepare you for the upcoming course. It’s important to finish this initial step early so that you are ready to dive into the full programme when it starts in November Following the orientation, the official live sessions will begin in November, with meetings scheduled for Saturday mornings from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Online Course Fee Summary:
Full Fee: £700.
This is the regular price for the online course.
Early Bird Offer (if paid in full): £600.
This offer is available until October 9th, one month before the course begins.
Payment Plan:
Two installments of £350 each, totaling £700.
This option lets you spread the cost over two payments without any additional cost compared to the full fee.
Scholarships:
Applying by October 9th could get you a 30% discount, which would reduce the early bird offer even further**.
Module Completion
Each module is designed to be completed within its respective month. Finishing each module is necessary to continue to the next and to receive your certification.

- Prerecorded Video Lectures: These allow you to learn at your pace and will be available for 12 months from the start date.
- Monthly Live Group Practices and Discussions: These sessions are key for a more in-depth understanding and active learning.
Course Expectations
Participants are expected to:
- Allocate Time for Study: Around 3 to 4 hours per month should be spent on the prerecorded video training.
- Balance Theory and Practice: The course offers a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical sessions, make time for self-practice.
- Participate in Live Sessions: Monthly live Yoga Nidra practices and discussions are a vital part of the course.
- Complete Homework and Assignments: Each month, about 8 to 10 hours will be needed for homework and practice assignments.
- Use the Training Manual: An online training manual is provided to support your learning journey.
- By following the course structure and participating fully, you will maximise the benefits of this learning opportunity and be on track for receiving your certification.
Course content
This course mixes practical exercises with theory, through monthly modules, group discussions, self-study, and guided practices. It dives into Yoga Nidra and its ties to traditions like Raja Yoga and the Koshas, and the Tattvas – exploring ways to share and teach these practices.
Here’s what the course includes:
- The Eight Stages of Yoga Nidra for helping the body reset the nervous system.
- Setting a space for intention and inner wisdom (Sankalpa).
- Understanding the body’s energy systems (Pancha Kosha model).
- The history and philosophy behind Yoga Nidra.
- The connection between Yoga Nidra, mental, physical, and emotional health.
- Trauma-informed healing methods rooted in indigenous, African, and Asian practices (now supported by modern science).
- The relationship between Raja Yoga, Psychology, Hatha Yoga, and Yoga Nidra.
- Insights into sleep stages and brain wave patterns.
Deepening your Yoga Nidra practice is central to this course, allowing you to explore its effects on the mind, body, and spirit, cultivating a sense of community that you can share with your own participants.

Assessment for the Yoga Nidra Training:
- Monthly Journal: Engage with a new recording daily and reflect in writing. Instructions for completion and submission of the journal will be provided. You must complete each module before proceeding to the next.
- Yoga Nidra Recordings: Produce your own recordings for each module and submit them for evaluation. All recordings must be completed to achieve course certification.
- Scripts: Develop scripts to support your recordings, enhancing your grasp of the practice’s essential elements.
- Ongoing Feedback and Mentoring Support: Receive continuous feedback and mentoring to aid your progress.
- Full attendance is necessary to successfully pass the course.
Please note that this course progresses sequentially through the eight stages of Yoga Nidra. Completing each module and consistent participation are vital for developing a successful practice.
Who is the Yoga Nidra Training for?
The Yoga Nidra training is tailored for Yoga teachers, trainees, and professionals in well-being, health, and psychology fields. If your goal is to introduce this practice to the individuals you support, or to deepen your own well-established personal practice, this course is ideally suited for you. Priority will be given to experienced Yoga teachers and those with prior experience in Yoga, Meditation, and Yoga Nidra.
