A special chair and mat based Yoga workshop led by Jasmin. An accessible and unique workshop offering a different way to build your practice. Offering rejuvenating and relaxing postures to help prepare the mind and body for breath work, relaxation and meditation.
Yoga for all levels of ability
Learn to practice with some mindful challenges! This workshop is accessible for mixed levels of ability, whatever your level of yoga experience all welcome*. This ‘chair and mat’ workshop shows you how to deepen your practice using the chair as a prop and tool for learning. Prepare to be challenged, using the chair in Yoga isn’t an easy an option as some people might think!
Expect a variety of strengthening classical postures, from standing balances to inversions. Including postures to stabilise and mobilise the hips, shoulders and spine.
Breath work, Relaxation and Meditation
Learn to connect to your inner self through the use of pranayama, with the use of simple breath work to still the mind and aid relaxation. This workshop includes a longer Savasana practice. FYI it’s more than just a simple relaxation!
Ending the workshop with a calming guided meditation to offer a sense of ease, space and stillness. Throughout the practice students will have options to use the chair or mat.
Jasmin will share simple tips and guidance that she has learnt from being a student of Zen. An experienced teacher in leading Yoga Nidra, she includes relaxation techniques in her work as a psychologist and leads specialist trainings on ‘Savasana’ as part of the Bahia Yoga 200 hour Yoga teacher trainings.
Booking and special treats
Fees are £35 per person. Please book online. Our friends from Sweaty Betty Nottingham will be there with a treat for all attendees. Plus there’s home made chocolate chia pudding for everyone to enjoy after the workshop.
*Note the building does not have wheelchair access – there is a flight of short flight stairs to enter the studio. The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 18 and above. This chair and mat based Yoga workshop is not suitable for pregnant students.
