We have a new six-month course starting, 60 hours of Yoga Nidra Training: Sleep Rest Restore. Running in person at our Nottingham studio. The course is suitable for qualified yoga teachers who wish to delve deeper into the restful and awakening practice of Yoga Nidra. 

Course Content Yoga Nidra Training

The course offers a mixture of practical and theoretical skills. With group discussion, self-study, and guided practice. Regular teaching practice and feedback. Monthly live Yoga Nidra practices are led by Jasminder Bahia.  Topics include the use of voice and language. Understanding Yoga Nidra and its wider context in Yoga. The ethics of the practice and teachings of Yoga Nidra. Plus a comprehensive manual specially created for the course.

  • Eight stages of Yoga Nidra
  • Practices for resting and restoring the body
  • Explanation of Sankalpa
  • Pancha Kosha model (energetic layers)
  • History and Philosophy of Yoga Nidra
  • The potential of Yoga Nidra and its application
  • Raja Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Learning outcomes

Students will receive step-by-step guidance on Yoga Nidra. Providing practitioners the space to explore a thorough approach to teaching the practice accurately. As well as time to experience the development of their own practice of Yoga Nidra. Enabling participants to deliver Yoga Nidra at a suitable level for different student populations.

The Course Leader

Jasminder Bahia is the founder and director of  Bahia Yoga. Bahia Yoga is an educational school that focuses on both contemporary and traditional approaches to yoga. Providing a practical, grounding, and accessible approach to learning and studying Yoga.

Jasminder is a Practitioner Psychologist, an EMDR practitioner (trauma-based therapy), and a student of Zen. She has been running yoga teacher training since 2011 and incorporates a full body-mind approach. She has trained hundreds of yoga teachers. And is recognised as a teacher that encompasses the fuller practices of Yoga. Teaching asana, philosophy, pranayama, mantra, and meditation since 2003. Jasminder has a reputation for making teachings accessible and relevant to everyday life.

Dates, Fees, and Scholarship places

The full course price is £825. The early bird fee is £750 (book before 1 July 2022). Phone interviews are offered prior to course acceptance. We offer two scholarship places for our POC community, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic students offering a 30% discount on each programme. The course consists of six modules and runs once a month on a Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, with a 45-minute lunch break.

Eligibility and pre-requisites

Suitable for qualified and active yoga teachers, and psychologists. Students are required to have a six-month practice of Yoga Nidra. Further information on the course will be published in May.  Please email to register your interest.

Assessment and Certificates

Submission of monthly journals. And scripts, and recordings throughout the course. Regular home study and assignments, with ongoing feedback on development. 60 hrs CPD with Yoga Alliance. A certificate will be presented upon completion of all 6 dates and all assignments.
