Summer Yoga at Nottingham Castle runs every Thursday evening from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm during the month of August and now extends through to September. We are delighted to share this exciting news and update you on our new collaboration. The Weekly classes will run during the summer at Nottingham Castle.

Thursday’s  August and September, 2022 From 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm

The classes are suitable for all levels, including beginners to experienced students. The sessions focus on mindful yoga postures, simple meditation, guided breathwork, and relaxation. Jasminder (Director of Bahia Yoga) creates a supportive learning environment, encouraging students to develop their practice, and helping in deepening their understanding of Yoga. She believes Yoga is accessible to everyone, and adapts classes for different learning styles, offering suitable options for each student.

About the teacher

Jasminder holds almost 20  years of experience teaching a broad range of styles, from Hatha Yoga to Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Restorative Yoga to Yoga Nidra She teaches weekly classes and Yoga teacher training, supporting hundreds of teachers, Jasminder is also a Psychologist and a student of Zen for 14 years. Jasminder creates a supportive learning environment, encouraging students to develop their practice and helping in deepening their understanding of Yoga. She believes Yoga is accessible to everyone, and adapts classes for different learning styles, offering key variations, and adjustments for each student.

Summer Yoga at Nottingham Castle, what to bring!

The sessions will be held outdoors, on the castle grounds, Middle Bailey against the stunning backdrop of the Ducal Palace. And here a few tips to help you prepare for the sessions at Nottingham Castle.

  • Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early (late entry is not permitted)
  • Please bring along a Yoga mat 
  • Wear loose light comfortable clothing for exercise and wear layers to keep warm and cool
  • We practice Yoga barefoot so bring a non-slip Yoga mat
  • Avoid doing Yoga on a full stomach – if you need to eat something before class, have a light snack an hour before class
  • If you have an injury or medical issue/ concern please seek permission from your doctor in advance, before booking any exercise/ movement classes
